December 2007: Cables International is delighted to announce the award of a major cable supply contract from PPL Shipyard in Singapore.
This milestone award comprises the total cable management and supply of 5 Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 deep drilling offshore rigs. Cables will be managed by Cables International throughout the fabrication period and delivered progressively to the shipyard on a just-in-time basis though 2008 and 2009.

PPL Shipyard, a subsidiary of SembCorp Marine, has been awarded contracts by Offshore Group Corp to build 4 Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 (BMC Pacific 375) Deep Drilling Offshore Jack-up Rigs.
The rigs are based on PPL Shipyard’s proprietary BMC Pacific 375 Deep Drilling design and proprietary components equipped to drill high pressure and high temperature wells at 30,000 feet whilst operating in 375 feet of water. The rigs have accommodation with full catering and amenities for 120 persons.
In addition to the 4 jack up awards, PPL PPL Shipyard has won a contract from Egyptian Drilling Co. (EDC), 50% owned by Danish A.P. Moller-Maersk Group to build a US$201 million Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 (BMC Pacific 375) jackup rig.
Construction of the jackup is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2007 with delivery scheduled in December 2009.
The rig will be built based on PPL Shipyard's proprietary BMC Pacific 375 Deep Drilling design and will be equipped with a drilling package capable of drilling high pressure and high temperature wells to a total depth of 30,000 feet (9,144 m) while operating in up to 375 feet (114 m) of water.The jackup also is designed with accommodation for 120 personnel.
