BW’s Kangean Energy’s Terang Sirasun Batur (TSB) FPSO First Gas Imminent Print

May 2012 Singapore Following Cables International’s successful completion of cables management and supply to this major FPSO conversion the vessel has now arrived on site and is in the process of Installation and Commissioning.

First gas is expected imminently at Kangean Energy’s Terang Sirasun Batur (TSB) field off East Java in Indonesia

The project’s main contractor BW Offshore said its floating production, storage and offloading vessel Joko Tole arrived on the TSB location on 6 April 2012 and has been hooked up to its mooring.

BW has a 10-year lease contract with Kangean Energy with options for an additional four years.

The TSB project is expected to reach a peak production rate of 300 million cubic feet per day of gas, which will be exported to the East Java Gas Pipeline.

The companies that make up Kangean Energy are Indonesia’s Energi Mega Persada (50%), Mitsubishi Corporation (25%) and Japan Petroleum Exploration (25%).

This was one of two major FPSO conversions supplied and managed simultaneously by Cables International on behalf of Kongsberg and BW Offshore.  All cables were supplied to the vessel owners and free issued to Keppel and Sembawang shipyards respectively.  On-site cables management supervision was provided by Cables International for the duration of both projects.
